A traffic stop at West Seventh Street and Glass Avenue Thursday evening led to the arrest of three people on methamphetamine charges.
Hopkinsville police pulled over 31-year-old Tisha Kerns of Hopkinsville for not wearing a seat belt and the arrest citation says a knife was visible between the driver’s seat and the console.
When Kerns exited the car so the officer could retrieve the knife, an odor of marijuana reportedly emanated from the vehicle and drug paraphernalia was visible in the floorboard.
Police say a bag containing meth was found at Kerns’ feet in the vehicle, in addition to digital scales and unused baggies in the car.
Both passengers, 23-year-old Hailee Bergman of Hopkinsville and 27-year-old Travis Dukes of Hopkinsville, allegedly each possessed meth on their person or property.
All three were arrested, with Kerns charged with trafficking in meth, the other two charged with meth possession and all three charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
