American Athletic Conference Commissioner Mike Aresco is promising there’s no plot to raid the Big 12. Aresco took part in a virtual media event Wednesday saying he would never collude with ESPN on potential influence of how other conferences look. Big 12 Commissioner Bob Bowlsby told CBS Sports last week he believed ESPN and the AAC were teaming up to poach at least three Big 12 schools in exchange for financial incentives. ESPN also denied the claims. Texas and Oklahoma announced last week they were leaving the Big 12 for the SEC by 2025.

The NFL is back in action tonight at long last as two classic franchises meet in one of the game’s greatest traditions. The Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers will meet in the annual NFL Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio. The gold jackets and busts will be on display this weekend.
