Hopkinsville man served with felony assault warrant, facing new charges after foot pursuit

A Hopkinsville man wanted on a Trigg County warrant for felony assault is facing new charges following a collision Tuesday.

An arrest citation for 28-year-old Trey Schobeloch of Hopkinsville says officers arrived at the accident scene on Lindwood Drive and found him cussing and arguing with others involved in the incident.

He allegedly spit in the face of an occupant of the other vehicle and police say he smelled of alcohol.

Schobeloch allegedly told police he wouldn’t show up in court while being cited and took off running into traffic when told he was under arrest.

He was caught after a few seconds and jailed following being checked out at Jennie Stuart Medical Center.

He’s charged with leaving the scene of an accident, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, fleeing or evading police, harassment and resisting arrest.

He was also served with a warrant out of Trigg County alleging he caused serious injury to a woman during an assault on July 4. Schobeloch is charged with second-degree assault for that incident.
