OVC files lawsuits against EKU and Jacksonville State for leaving conference

The Ohio Valley Conference filed a lawsuit against Eastern Kentucky University and Jacksonville State University today. The suit is forcing both schools to each pay a one million dollar exit fee for leaving the OVC to join the Atlantic Sun Conference. In a news release, OVC commissioner Beth Debauche said since EKU’s and JSU’s notices were provided less than two years before the planned exit, the fee is set at $1 million for each school. Both schools will begin play in the A-Sun this fall.
