The Hoptown Hoppers season came to an end last night with a 7-1 loss to the Fulton Railroaders in game two of the OVL South Divisional series. The game was tied 1-1 in the fifth before a triple by Fulton’s Patrick Music game them the lead at 2-1. Following a 1:50 rain delay, the Railroaders scored one more run in the fifth to go up 3-1 then scored four more times in the sixth, seventh and ninth innings and cruised to the win. Noah Brown went 3-3 and Jojo Cruz was 2-4 in defeat with starting pitcher Colby Downard suffering the loss as the Hoppers end the season 21-24. Fulton is now 29-16.
In other OVL playoff action:; Full Count won the other South Division series with a 5-1 win in a rain shortened six inning game at Paducah.
In the North Division: Henderson picked up a 7-4 win over Madisonville to sweep that series and Dubois County doubled up Owensboro 4-2 to win that series.
Today is an off day with Division Finals taking place Monday night as Full Count welcomes Fulton and Henderson entertains Dubois County.
