College Sports

The Universities of Texas and Oklahoma officially announced today their plans to leave the Big 12, which will likely pave the way for the two schools to join the Southeastern Conference. In a joint statement, the two schools said they will continue to monitor the rapidly evolving college landscape as they consider how best to position their athletic programs for the future.

MLB

The Los Angeles Times reports many Los Angeles Dodger players do not want pitcher Trevor Bauer back on the team. Bauer is currently on administrative leave as MLB investigates sexual assault allegations under the league’s collectively bargained domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse policy. Separately, Pasadena police are investigating Bauer for felony assault in connection with an incident earlier this year.

NFL

ESPN reports a source as indicating the Houston Texans would be willing to trade quarterback Deshaun Watson. Watson reported to training camp on Sunday and made it clear that his desire to be traded had not changed, a source said. If Watson had not reported to camp, he would have been fined $50,000 per day. A source also stated the Texans are willing to trade Watson before the start of the season if they find the right match.
