The Hoptown Hoppers held on for a 5-4 win over Owensboro last night at Colonel Field. Kurt Paldino got the Hoppers scoring started with a solo home run in the second with the Hoppers leading 3-1 before the River Dawgs scored three times in the top of the 5th to take a 4-3 lead. The Hoppers would score twice in the bottom of the sixth on a two run single by Riley Garcyzinski. Chase Gruno in relief of Jackson Lyons got his third win of the season and Price Watson his second save.
The Hoppers are now 20-18, marking their seventh season with at least 20 wins. Hoptown plays at Full Count this evening.
Friday night’s OVL scores: Dubois County edged Henderson 3-2, Full Count defeated Madisonville 5-2, Muhlenberg County topped Paducah 8-6 and Fulton over Franklin 4-1.
Tonight’s Games: Madisonville visits Dubois County, Henderson travels to Muhlenberg County, Owensboro welcomes Paducah and Fulton entertains Franklin.
