Grand jury returns indictments for assault, strangulation

Indictments were returned by a Christian County Grand Jury, including for assault and burglary.

A superseding indictment was returned against 31-year old Landon Foster of Crofton, who had originally been charged with second-degree assault.  He was newly indicted Friday on a first-degree assault charge—it alleges he used a baseball bat to cause serious injuries to a female victim in May.  Foster also had minor injuries from the incident and was treated and released at Jennie Stuart Medical Center.

Also indicted for first-degree assault is 26-year old Whitle Jonquil Harrison of Oak Grove, who is also indicted for first-degree fleeing or evading police.  Harrison is accused of using a deadly weapon to inflict physical injury to a victim on June 25.

Forty-four year old Alprestonia Butler of Hopkinsville was indicted for first-degree strangulation and fourth-degree assault. An incident report alleges that Butler struck his 43-year old girlfriend on the head and strangled her on May 30 at a location in the 1700 block of Bryan Street.

The assault left marks on the victim’s head, according to the report.
