Students in Christian County will now have free meals provided to them during the next school year thanks to the Seamless Summer Option of National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program.
According to a news release from Christian County Public Schools Spokesperson John Rittenhouse, CCPS will be participating in the Seamless Summer Option of National School Lunch Program and the School Breakfast Program, which aims to provide children with healthy meals at no cost.
As part of the program, Christian County High School, Christian County Middle School, Crofton Elementary, Freedom Elementary, Hopkinsville High School, Hopkinsville Middle School, Indian Hills Elementary, Martin Luther King Elementary, Millbrooke Elementary, Pembroke Elementary, Sinking Fork Elementary and South Christian Elementary will offer healthy meals every school day at no cost to all enrolled students and children age 18 and younger for school year 2021-2022.
Students and all community children in that age range will be able to participate in the meal programs without having to pay a fee or submit an application.
