Heat and humidity to return this weekend

Relatively pleasant weather will be the story for the beginning of this week, but heat and humidity will return this weekend.

Temperatures will be at or below normal in the mid to upper-80’s through mid-week, according to Rick Shanklin of the National Weather Service in Paducah, who said during the weekly conference call that heat indicies will approach 100 by the weekend.

Thunderstorm chances return Thursday afternoon and rain will be possible all the way through Sunday.

The 8-to-14-day outlook calls for temperatures above normal next week and normal precipitation.

Western Kentucky is still looking good on the national drought indicator, with plenty of rain in the last couple weeks.
