Harrison Bader drove in the go-ahead run in the seventh inning as the St. Louis Cardinals edged the San Francisco Giants 2-1 at Busch Stadium. St. Louis took two of three in the series. Alex Reyes set a Major League record with his 24th consecutive save converted to start his career. The Redbirds host the Chicago Cubs tonight.

The Chicago Cubs couldn’t secure a series sweep, losing 6-4 to the Arizona Diamondbacks Sunday. Javier Báez drove in a pair and Kris Bryant had two hits and a RBI for Chicago.

Interleague

Joc Pederson knocked in a pair of runs as the Atlanta Braves fell the Tampa Bay Rays 7-5 at home. Pederson had two hits and two RBI in his second start with Atlanta. Atlanta has lost three of its last four. The Braves start a home series with the San Diego Padres tonight.

The New York Yankees have banned a fan for life after he hit a player with a baseball at Yankee Stadium. The incident took place Saturday night when a fan threw a baseball from the stands and hit Boston Red Sox outfielder Alex Verdugo in the back. The fan was ejected from the game, but wasn’t arrested. Major League Baseball announced the fan will be banned from all other 29 league ballparks, in addition to Yankee Stadium. Yankees manager Aaron Boone described the incident as “awful, embarrassing and unacceptable.”
