Community events and activities continue to ramp back up in Hopkinsville, and Mayor Wendell Lynch says the city is recovering rapidly from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Appearing on WHOP Friday morning, Mayor Lynch says city council expects to hear the end of year financial report soon, and he’s confident it will be a positive one that shows strong economic recovery.
He says as things return to normal there have been more opportunities opening up in the community, including the Ag. Expo Center, which he says will be beneficial to youth.
Mayor Lynch says the Tie Break Aquatic Center has been reaching max capacities for visitors most days, and the Hopkinsville Sportsplex is seeing frequent activity and tourism.
On the subject of the recently announced T-Mobile ‘tech makeover’ competition in which Hopkinsville is a top ten finalist, Mayor Lynch says it’s likely the winner of that will be announced within the next few weeks.
