Unemployment was down slightly last month in Kentucky

Kentucky’s seasonally adjusted  June unemployment rate was down slightly from May and down from one year ago.

The June rate was 4.4 percent, according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics—down a tenth of a point from May and down 1.3 percentage points from the 5.7 percent recorded for the state one year ago when restrictions were in place to slow the spread of COVID-19.

The U.S. seasonally adjusted jobless rate for June was 5.9 percent, up from the 5.8 percent reported in May, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
