The Lexington Herald Leader reports former Kentucky basketball player Gerry Calvert died Monday at the age of 85. Calvert had been in failing health. He had practiced law in Lexington for more than a half century. The Maysville native played for the Wildcats in the mid 1950’s. Calvert was Kentucky’s second leading scorer in the 1956-57 season at 15.2 points per game in his senior season.
