A Nashville man was arrested following an eight-mile pursuit late Wednesday night and early Thursday morning on the Pennyrile Parkway.
Christian County Sheriff’s Sgt. Adam Vanderkolk says spike strips were used to stop 49-year old Jeffery Albea of Nashville after he refused to pull over for a traffic stop that was initiated just before midnight.
Albea is charged with reckless driving, fleeing or evading police and driving on a revoked license.
He reportedly told deputies he ran because he was wanted on warrants, but there were no active warrants against him in the computer system.
Albea was held in contempt of court during arraignment in Christian District Court Thursday morning after he used several expletives addressing Judge Foster Cotthoff and continued to use foul language as he exited the lectern. Judge Cotthoff ordered Albea to be held without bond until sentencing on July 16 for the contempt charge.
