Suspect charged with felony assault, accused of breaking woman’s jaw

Hopkinsville police arrested a local man Monday afternoon for allegedly punching a woman so hard that he broke her jaw.

The alleged victim told police she and 48-year old Michael Daniel of Hopkinsville had been to a couple of 4th of July parties and that Daniel began pushing and yelling at her when they got home.

He allegedly punched her on the left side of the face, knocking her out and causing injuries that personnel at Jennie Stuart Medical Center say will require her to have her jaw wired shut due to a fracture.

Daniel is charged with second-degree felony assault.
