A good crowd gathered Saturday evening on South Main Street in Pembroke for an Independence Day celebration.
There were bouncers, live music, free ice cream and other activities and Pastor Andy Haley says it was a partnership between Pembroke Baptist Church, local businesses and the city.
Those sponsors made it where any family could have a good time in Pembroke, no matter their financial means.
The evening was capped off with a fireworks display.
