Hopkinsville Electric System will have a planned power outage in areas west of Main Street in Hopkinsville on Tuesday.
Starting at 11:59 PM, HES will be performing system maintenance that will require a power outage for most of Hopkinsville west of Main Street and it is estimated that the outage will last approximately one to two hours. Assuming no issues are encountered during this system upgrade, power should be restored by 1:30 AM Wednesday morning.
According to a news release, the outage is necessary to perform system maintenance to the HES distribution system in the affected area. Residents may want to cool their houses more than normal before the outage occurs and HES recommends that customers not open refrigerators or freezers to retain the cold for the foods inside.
