Pursuit ends with two arrests

A pursuit of a wanted suspect’s vehicle Tuesday afternoon in Christian County led to a deputy firing his duty weapon and two suspects being arrested.

Deputies located a vehicle occupied by 35-year old Jordan Goodman about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 9000 block of Millers Mill Road, according to a news release.

Goodman was sought on a warrant in relation to a June 15 incident where he allegedly ran over a woman who was on a lawn mower and then fled when police were called, leaving the victim on the ground with serious injuries.

Goodman failed to stop Tuesday when deputies initiated emergency equipment, almost striking a deputy on multiple occasions before coming to stop in a field on Wayne Hunt Road.

Police say Goodman’s vehicle began moving again as deputies tried to arrest him and his passenger, nearly striking the deputies. One deputy, whose name is not listed, fired his duty weapon into the radiator to disable Goodman’s vehicle.

Goodman and his passenger, 40-year old Victoria Becerril, were then arrested with no one injured in the incident.

Goodman is charged with wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police, reckless driving, driving on a suspended license, resisting arrest and criminal mischief.

Becerril is charged with resisting arrest and hindering the apprehension of a fugitive.

Kentucky State Police was contacted to investigate, which is common practice for officer-involved shootings.
