Reds lose to Braves, Cardinals and Cubs also lose Sunday

The Cincinnati Reds dropped yesterday’s finale with the Atlanta Braves 4-0 to split the four-game series. The Reds hope to bounce back later tonight when Wade Miley gets the start against the Philadelphia Phillies in a makeup from earlier in the season. Max Kranick threw five perfect innings in his Major League debut as the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the St. Louis Cardinals 7-2. Kranick picked up his first win as he struck out three before an hour-plus long rain delay cut his outing short. The Redbirds have lost six of their last seven contests as they welcome the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight.

Clayton Kershaw struck out 13 batters as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Chicago Cubs 7-1. The southpaw picked up his ninth win, throwing eight frames and allowing just four hits. The Cubs have lost three in a row as they begin a series tonight at Milwaukee.
