It may have taken eight holes, but Harris English outlasted Kramer Hickok in a wild playoff to win the PGA Tour’s Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut. It’s the second-longest playoff in PGA Tour history and the longest since 2012. Both golfers birdied 18 to force the playoff and finish at 13-under for the tournament. English shot a five-under 65 Sunday while Hickok shot a three-under 67. Marc Leishman finished one-stroke back at after shooting a 64 in the final round. Campbellsville native JB Holmes tied for 36th at four under.
At the Bridgestone Senior Players Championship in Akron, OH, Steve Stricker at seven under par was a six shot winner over Jerry Kelly. Fred Couples and David Toms tied for third at even par. Franklin’s Kenny Perry tied for 49th at 15 over while Paducah native Russ Cochran was 74th at 26 over.
