Cooler, less humid weather expected for holiday weekend

After more heat and humidity and then some rain, the weather could shape up to be abnormally comfortable for the 4th of July weekend.

Highs should be in the lower 80’s Saturday and Sunday, with low humidity and only a very slight chance of rain. Christine Wilegos with the National Weather Service in Paducah says it’s extremely rare to have such pleasant weather predicted for Independence Day.

We have to live through more heat and humidity until Wilegos says a soaking rain moves in Wednesday night and Thursday.

She says the below normal temperatures are expected to continue into next week, but that could come with above average rainfall.

The national drought map shows parts of the area as abnormally dry at this time, but that will be rectified by this week’s rain.
