Pageants, demolition derby featured Saturday at the fair

Day 2 of the Western Kentucky State fair features a full slate of pageants in the convention center and the demolition derby during the evening in the grandstand.

The first night was very successful, with 4,569 going through the gates.

Doris Ann Russell says the infant, baby, tiny tot and youth pageants will be ongoing through the afternoon in the air-conditioned convention center and those will be followed by the Mrs. Western Kentucky State Fair pageant at 5:30 and the Miss pageant at 7:30.

Gates open to the fair at 4, with a $25 arm band getting you unlimited rides.

The demolition derby starts at 7 in the grandstand and you can get in for $5 and you can buy a combo ticket to get into the fair and the derby for $7 at the gate.
