Man flown to Nashville hospital after I-24 crash

A man was flown to a Nashville hospital following a four-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon on I-24 in Christian County.

The incident happened a little after 4 p.m. and Christian County Sheriff’s Major Jason Newby says a man driving an SUV was eastbound near the 89 mile-marker when he approached vehicles that were slowed or stopped with traffic.

The man was traveling too fast to stop and rear-ended a vehicle, causing a chain-reaction that collected two more automobiles.

The driver of the SUV was the only person seriously injured and he was extricated by the Christian County Rescue Squad an then flown by Air Evac to a hospital in Nashville for non-life-threatening injuries.

Names of those involved have not been released.
