A man is dead after a fireworks accident Wednesday night on Nelson Drive.
It happened at 2806C Nelson just before 11 p.m. and Hopkinsville Police Sgt. Tony Sierra says 31-year old David Williams had been holding a large mortar-type firework when he possibly began to lose his grip on it and it exploded between his hand and his head.
Williams was flown by Air Evac to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, where he died early Thursday morning.
