HCC gearing up for outreach, fundraisers with lifting of pandemic restrictions

Hopkinsville Community College is celebrating receiving a prestigious award and working on efforts to reach out to potential students and people in need in the community.

Chief of Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the HCC Foundation Yvette Eastham appeared on WHOP Thursday and says they were honored and thrilled to be named a 2021 Circle of Excellence Winner by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.  She says it’s rare that award is claimed by a community college, which shows the work they’re able to accomplish.

She says a lot of thanks has to go to the community that supports them, which has allowed them to start initiatives such as Pathfinder Pantry to help those struggling with food insecurity.

Eastham says they’re always looking for ways to reach out to other communities with opportunities.

Hopkinsville Community College intends to really ramp up fundraising efforts this year now that pandemic restrictions have eased, and they are always accepting of donations towards their multiple student help programs.
