Willie Renshaw, founder of Warm the Children program, dies

Willie Renshaw, who organized the Warm the Children campaign through the local Kiwanis Club, died this week following a long illness.

The Kiwanis Club of Hopkinsville announced Renshaw’s passing in an email, asking for prayers for his family.

Renshaw began the Warm the Children program through Kiwanis in 1995 as a way to provide warm, winter clothes to local children in need and well over 4,000 children have been helped in the 25 winters since.

He talked about Warm the Children at a 2018 Kiwanis meeting.

Warm the Children has been successful thanks to Renshaw’s vision, partnerships with JC Penny and Walmart and the generosity of the citizens of Christian County.
