Residents in two Pennyrile counties will no longer be able to renew their driver’s licenses at their local circuit court clerk’s offices as the services move to regional offices.
According to a news release, ten more counties have transitioned to the new model, including Muhlenberg and Livingston counties. The traditional system of licenses and permits being issued by the Office of Circuit Court Clerk in each county is being phased out and is being replaced by a network of KYTC Driver Licensing Regional Offices located across the state. To date, 18 regional offices have been opened statewide.
The Office of Circuit Court Clerk in Livingston and Muhlenberg will cease nearly all in-person driver licensing services on July 26. With the July transition, one-third of Kentucky’s 120 counties will have made the transfer of services.
The regional offices in Madisonville and Paducah also offer the REAL ID.
