Construction on the new speculative building could be complete by the end of the year, with the director of the South Western Kentucky Economic Development Council says it gives the region another advantage.
Carter Hendricks appeared on WHOP Tuesday morning and says that spec building is just one of many infrastructure projects that will help draw industries to the region, and once it is complete sometime in December, it will allow for quick turnaround.
He says this area is fortunate to have leadership that is always looking to the future and considering what needs to be done to improve economically.
Hendricks is hopeful that an industrial connector for I-24 to the second commerce park will be approved, as it could help not only those industries, but also the small community roads that are being crowded with large equipment and trucks.
Hendricks says the EDC will continue to apply for grants and other opportunities to help invest in local infrastructure, whether that be roads, water, gas or broadband.
