Motorcyclist injured in Guthrie crash

A car versus motorcycle accident Sunday night in Guthrie caused significant injuries to the biker.

Guthrie Police Chief Dean Blumel investigated and determined Dana Sykes of Clarksville was headed south on KY 181 and said she didn’t see a northbound motorcycle operated by Mark Wyatte of Dixie Beeline Highway, Guthrie as she approached the intersection with US 41.

She proceeded into intersection and struck the right side of Wyatte’s motorcycle, ejecting him from the bike.

Wyatte sustained a severely broken wrist and other potentially broken bones and was transported by EMS to Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville.

Sykes was checked out at the scene and declined a trip to the hospital.

The Todd County Rescue Squad and Guthrie Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
