The Hoptown Hoppers plated a run in the top of the 9th inning to edge Muhlenberg County 3-2 in Greenville last night. Zayd Brannigan’s walk that brought home BJ Banyon with two outs in the inning proved to be the game winner. The Hoppers had just six hits, with Landon Choboy getting two of them. Colby Downey went the first five innings and allowed two runs on three hits and six strikeouts. However, Chase Gruno got credit for the win, going the last two innings allowing no runs or hits and struck out five. The Hoppers are now 9-6 and return to action tomorrow night at Henderson.
