Todd Fiscal Court approves final reading of budget

Todd Fiscal Court approved final reading of a $9.2 million budget during a special-called meeting Monday morning.

The spending plan for the fiscal year that begins July 1 is a little different than the version approved on first reading in May and Treasurer Tammy Robertson says the biggest difference is the inclusion of $1.2 million in American Rescue Covid Relief funds that had to be added to revenues.

There are also a few amended expenditures after county government learned of some changes in the last five weeks.

Todd County Coroner Timothy Wells notified court he will bringing back prices for a van with air conditioning in the back for his office to use. He hopes magistrates will approve a purchase and allow the office to keep the current van for instances when the new one is at the medical examiner’s office or on another call.

In other action, fiscal court approved reducing the speed limit on Meredith Lane in Penchem to 25 mph.
