Plane that embarked from Christian Co. crashes in Logan, no injuries

No one was injured when a plane traveling from the Christian County Airport to the Logan County Airport crashed Thursday afternoon.

According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the Logan County Airport on Franklin Road where a plane had reportedly run off the runway and crashed.  Investigation determined that a rear tire on the single engine plane had blown out while it was attempting to land.  That caused it to travel off the runway and down a large embankment.

Neither the pilot nor his passenger, whose names have not been released, were injured in the incident.

The sheriff’s department was assisted by Russellville Police Department, Logan County EMS and the Russellville Rural Fire Department.
