Unemployment fell from April to May in Kentucky.
Kentucky’s seasonally adjusted preliminary May unemployment rate was 4.5 percent, according to the Kentucky Center for Statistics. That was down two tenths of a point from April and down 6.4 percentage points from the 10.9 percent recorded for the state one year ago when COVID restrictions were in place.
The U.S. seasonally adjusted jobless rate for May was 5.8 percent, down from the 6.1 percent reported in April, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
