Congressman James Comer spoke with the Pennyrile Area Development District Board of Directors at their meeting Monday afternoon.
Congressman Comer represents the first district in Kentucky and says he’ll be eager to be traveling more and meeting in-person once again now that COVID-19 restrictions are lifting. He says one of his top priorities in Washington D.C. right now is trying to address what he calls a problem with unemployment and trying to get people back on their feet.
He says he’s always working with others to find a compromise on reform with the United States Postal Service to help improve the service.
Conversations continue about oversight issues concerning Land Between the Lakes, with Congressman Comer saying probes are currently underway and he hopes to have more information soon.
He says work continues on trying to find a compromise on the extra-large infrastructure bill the president recently proposed, and on trying to find a way to trim back regulations that businesses owners had to contend with during the pandemic that are still lingering.
