The week ahead is looking sunny and hot with a chance of rain returning this weekend.
Rick Shanklin with the National Weather Service is Paducah says while this week will have temperatures in the upper 80’s to low 90’s during the day, it will be much less humid compared to the prior week.
The chance of rain and storms will return Friday and go through the weekend, and then in the eight to 14 day outlook it’s looking like temperatures will be fairly normal, as well the rainfall amount.
Hurricane season is approaching and although their coverage area is landlocked, hurricanes can greatly affect the region with rain and storms, so they’ll keep a close eye on anything that could develop in the future.
In the meantime, Shanklin says the rivers remain in good shape and below flood stage and the indicators for drought possibilities are low for the area.
