Woman charged with DUI, wanton endangerment following injury accident

Three people were injured and a woman was charged with DUI and wanton endangerment following an accident Friday afternoon on Lafayette Road.

Hopkinsville police say 39-year old Kathryn Hamilton of Hopkinsville was involved in an accident in the 3200 block of Lafayette about 1:15 p.m. and multiple witnesses said she appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or a substance.

Hamilton and her two children were taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center, where officers talked to her and noted on the report that she had slurred speech and didn’t know where she was. She reportedly refused a blood test.

Hamilton was charged with aggravated DUI and first-degree wanton endangerment.
