Hoppers rout Fulton in rain shortened game Saturday night

The Hoptown Hoppers scored seven times in the first inning and four times in the second as they downed the Fulton Railroaders 12-1 in a five inning game stopped by rain Saturday night at Colonel Field.Alex Gonzales went 3-3 with a grand slam home run, Jake Parr and JoJo Cruz each added two hits and Kurt Paldino had a three run home run for his first hit of the season. Hopkinsville’s Jonathan Beymer made his first start and was the winning pitcher going five innings allowing one run on two hits and struck out six.

The Hoppers are now 5-3 on the season and welcome Paducah for a 6 pm game Sunday night at Colonel Field, with pregame at 5:45 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP and whopam.com.
