HS Baseball-Softball

The 7th District softball final between Caldwell County and Madisonville has been rescheduled for 6 pm tomorrow evening in Princeton. Both teams will play in the 2nd Region tournament that is scheduled to begin Saturday at Christian County.

Games in the 6th District baseball and softball tournaments are postponed for today. The 6th District baseball final between Union County and Henderson County will be played tomorrow evening at 7 pm at Union County. The 6th District softball semifinal between Union County and Webster County will be played at 5 pm at Union County with the winner to play Henderson County in the final at 8:30 pm.

MLB

The Cincinnati Reds-Philadelphia Phillies game that was to be played at Great American Ballpark this afternoon was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up Monday June 28th at 5:40 pm Central time.

The St. Louis Cardinals say starting pitcher Jack Flaherty is on the injured list due to a “significant” oblique injury suffered in Monday night’s loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Flaherty is the third Redbirds pitcher to suffer a major injury. The 25-year-old was 8-1 with a 2.90 earned run average before the injury.

Horse Racing

Multiple reports say Kentucky Derby winner Medina Spirit’s second drug test has been confirmed to be positive. This means Medina Spirit could become the second horse in Derby history to be disqualified for illegal drug use. Mandaloun is poised to be the Kentucky Derby winner.

College Basketball

ESPN reports Duke head coach Mike Krzyzewski-the winningest coach in Division I men’s basketball history who has led the Blue Devils to five national championships in his 41 seasons-plans to retire after the 2021-22 season. Sources also tell ESPN associate head coach Jon Scheyer has agreed to become the next head coach.

Golf

Final practice rounds for the US Women’s Open which begins tomorrow at The Olympic Club in San Francisco are taking place today. Princeton’s Emma Talley is in the field.

The PGA Tour heads to Dublin, OH for The Memorial Tournament that begins tomorrow. Kentuckians Justin Thomas and JB Holmes are in the field.
