Senior centers set to reopen June 11, new deaths identified in audit

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear reported Tuesday that senior citizens center will reopen on June 11, and his live press conferences concerning COVID are coming to an end.

The governor reported 137 new cases, and announced that the audit being conducted on the state reporting system concerning COVID-19 related deaths has come to an end.  While he reported one new death, there were 260 identified deaths—he says hopefully this catches them up fully and they’ll have no more delayed reporting.

The senior centers will reopen June 11, which is also when the mask mandate will lift for all Kentuckians, and the governor says that’s thanks to successful vaccine rollout.

The positivity rate is at 2.50 percent—Christian County remains ‘yellow’ on the state incidence rate map, along with Trigg County, while Todd County is once again listed as ‘orange’.
