Officer-involved shooting investigated in Clarksville

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is investigating an officer-involved shooting from early Thursday morning.

Clarksville Police Detective Michael Patterson says officers responded to a call in the 3300 block of Durrett Drive in Clarksville just after midnight and made contact with a man in the backyard of a residence.

Officers began talking to the man in an attempt to de-escalate the situation, but the man allegedly produced a weapon, causing an officer to fire.

The man was taken to a hospital and his condition was not known.

Names of those involved have not been released.
