Kentucky has reached a milestone with two million people getting the COVID-19 vaccine.
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear reported 580 new cases during a briefing Tuesday, along with five new deaths and a positivity rate of 2.52 percent. Two million individuals are now vaccinated against the virus, which Governor Beshear says is excellent news.
Beshear also announced that in-person visitation at state prisons will resume the week of June 20 and visitors must show proof of vaccination. Seventy-six percent of adult inmates housed in state custody have been vaccinated.
There are currently 353 Kentuckians in the hospital due to COVID-19, 108 in the ICU and 49 on a ventilator.
