Woman injured, charged with DUI after crash that knocked out power

A woman was injured and charged with DUI after her vehicle struck a utility pole near the East Seventh Street Dollar General parking lot early Saturday morning, knocking out power to the area.

An arrest citation for 27-year old Tiffany Quarles of Pembroke says the crash happened about 3 a.m. and that Quarles allegedly got inside another vehicle and left the scene.

Hopkinsville police stopped that vehicle and found Quarles in the front passenger seat. She reportedly admitted to having been drinking at an establishment on Greenville Road before getting behind the wheel and said to officers that she didn’t remember the accident.

EMS transported Quarles to Jennie Stuart Medical Center, where she was treated for minor injuries and released into the custody of HPD.

She was jailed on charges of DUI and leaving the scene of an accident.
