Christian County High School’s 304 seniors were sent into the next phase of their life with commencement Friday evening at the Stadium of Champions.
The 2021 Colonel salutatorian is T’Khiyah Trice-Wilford and the co-valedictorians are Shanan Fowler and John Willis.
The remainder of the top 10 graduates are Kallie Baker, Ashanti Banks, Britney Buckner, Lucas Gamble, Macy Hale-Baker, Austin Grant-Hall, Serenity Shemwell and Rebecca Smith.
Former Colonel principal and current district Superintendent Chris Bentzel was the commencement speaker and urged seniors to consider the adversity they’ve already overcome by being a student during a pandemic.
He assured the graduates they are prepared to succeed in whatever the next phase of life holds for them.
The school presented a diploma to the family of Kaylee Lane, who died in an automobile accident in 2018 in Hopkinsville and who would have been a member of the class of 2021.
