University Heights Academy sent 41 graduates out into the world Friday night, following a commencement ceremony.
This class had to overcome many hardships due to a year drastically changed by COVID-19, with Salutatorian Shahyan Khan congratulating his classmates on a job well done—he says the sense of community created at UHA will never fade.
Valedictorian Rohan Desai says the lessons they learned at UHA, outside of a traditional education, will stay with the class of 2021 forever and he says one thing the members of this class have in common is looking out for others.
This class earned over $1 million in scholarships collectively, which Headmaster Beth Unfried says only makes choosing a Head of School Award winner even more difficult—but that honor went to Will Bryan. The D.A.R. Citizenship Award was won by Magdalene Unfried.
Marvin Denison says UHA is fast approaching a huge milestone in the history of the school—next year, they will have graduated 1,000 students.
