Two people were killed, including a Russellville man, in a head-on collision Wednesday in far Western Kentucky.
Kentucky State Police investigated and say 20-year old James Sanders of Russellville had been westbound on KY 286 in Ballard County about 6 p.m. when he crossed into oncoming traffic and struck an eastbound SUV operated by 28-year old Cain Oswald of Arkansas.
Sanders was taken first to Baptist Health in Paducah and then flown by helicopter to Tennova Healthcare in Clarksville, where he died from his injuries. His passenger, 19-year old Alissa Downing of Lewisburg, was transported to Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
Oswald was pronounced dead at the scene.
