Jack Flaherty improved to 8-and-0 this season after leading the St. Louis Cardinals to an 8-5 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Flaherty tossed six innings of two-run ball and plated one run for the Cardinals, who swept the two-game series. The Cardinals welcome the Chicago Cubs tomorrow night.

The Chicago Cubs ninth inning rally fell short in a 4-3 loss to the Washington Nationals at Wrigley Field. Chicago snapped a three-game winning streak. The four-game series wraps up today.

Ronald Acuna Jr. hit a walk-off solo home run on the first pitch in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Atlanta Braves past the New York Mets 5-4. It was Acuna’s NL-leading 13th homer of the season. The Braves begin a weekend series with the Pittsburgh Pirates this evening.

New York Yankees pitcher Corey Kluber threw a no-hitter against the Texas Rangers in New York’s 2-0 win in Arlington. It is the sixth official no-hitter this season, the second in consecutive days for the first time since 1969, and the 12th thrown in Yankees franchise history. The 35-year-old right-hander struck out nine batters while walking just one in his first career no-hitter and in his ninth start for the Yankees.
