Governor Andy Beshear says Kentucky needs the help of its young people to end the COVID-19 pandemic.
The governor spoke to students at Lexington’s Lafayette High School Tuesday about the importance of getting vaccinated.
Beshear’s visit comes after he announced on Monday that the highest rate of new COVID cases is among 10-to-19 year olds.
He urged parents to make an appointment for their students to get the vaccine, if they’re eligible.
Children age 12 and older are eligible for the vaccine. As of Monday, more than 24,000 Kentuckians age 12 to 17 have received at least their first dose.
