Todd Central graduates Class of 2021

Todd County Central High School hosted an in-person, outdoor graduation Monday evening at its football stadium, sending 118 seniors into the world.

Emily Rose Oliver and Haylee Vass were the Class of 2021 valedictorians and Eliza Sheridan Simons was the First Honor Student.

Oliver thanked all of the teachers who helped her at Todd Central and wished her classmates the best.

Vass urged her classmates to cherish their memories made at the school.

The Loving Cup, presented annually in memory of Aubrey and Bertha Campbell by Henry, Duncan, and AG Campbell, was awarded to Skylar McKinney. Simons and Haleigh Gann were the second and first runners-up.

The individual selected to receive the Loving Cup exemplifies the ideal student and is chosen based on teacher and student nomination and vote.

Receiving top 10 percent recognition were Morgan Cannon, Faith Dennis, Madison Grace Gilliland, Jayla Leavell, Collin Lyon, Julia Martin, Skyler Ty McKinney, Nikita Ann Shutts and Madelyn Williams.

Todd Central remembered Logan Schutt, who was killed with four other members of his family when their car was swept into floodwaters in December of 2015 in Illinois. He would have been a member of the class of 2021 and his name was called with his classmates.

Twenty-two seniors also graduated from Todd County’s Horizons Academy earlier in the day.
