Horse Racing

Kentucky Derby winner Medina Spirit is the favorite to win today’s 146th Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore. The colt will break from the number three post position in the race for the second leg of the Triple Crown. Medina Spirit has been cleared to despite a failed drug test following the Derby. The horse passed three rounds of drug testing in the lead up to the race.

NHL

The NHL wants an answer from Canada about the coronavirus-related border travel issue by July 1st. The Canadian NHL teams have played in the same division against each other all season and will keep doing so through the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Canada continues to have strict border travel restrictions due to the pandemic. The league is expecting a positive solution that will allow American teams to travel into the country to complete the season.

NASCAR

NASCAR’s Cup Series is set to invade Dover on Sunday. After a big win at Darlington last week, Martin Truex Jr. will be on the pole. He will be joined up front by Denny Hamlin. William Byron starts third while Kyle Larson enters at the fourth position. Kevin Harvick will start fifth.
